CHARACTER SHEET 1. Name: Jak Cedikos 2. Age/D.OB.: 27/12-25-1995 3. Personal history: My name is Jakson Jensen Cedikos, but I prefer to be called Jak. I was born on Christmas day in 1995. For the mathematically challenged, it means I'm 27-years old. I was born and raised in Scranton, Pennsylvania.
Both of my parents worked their asses off to provide for my sister and I. My mother, Kathleen, was a nurse at the local county prison. She worked their most of her adult life. My father, Jared, was a county bus driver. He often bounced around from job to job . He held the bus driving job the longest sadly enough. My sister, Kristen, was born April 9, 1997. We were close for a brother and sister. I dated her friends, she dated mine. Since we were only sixteen months apart, we were able to have the same circle of friends. Sometimes we fought, but, we were family. Shit happens.
I played high school football where I may not have been the star, but I was certainly the best. I was listed as one of the fifty best defensive ends in the entire country for high school football. I was offered free rides to every major football program around the United States. From USC to Notre Dame. ,y only choice: Penn State University. My senior year I was finally offered that free ride to PSU. It was a dream come true. I signed my letter of intent and the rest of that school year seemed to whiz right by.
On June 16, 2013, I graduated high school with and openly optimistic point of view on life and love. Instead of doing the "traditional" partying and getting completely slammed, I opted to be with my family.
After the graduation ceremony I spent a few hours with my best friends: Ted, Jerry and Sam. We did the usual pizza and some video games. Except this time it didn't feel the usual. We were high school graduates! We all said out goodbye's and made plans for a summer road trip. We laughed, shook hands, and went our separate way.
When I arrived back at home, my house was completely dark. My mind automatically thinking "surprise party". I would not have put it past my parents to throw me one. They loved me and were proud I graduated. They were proud that I was continuing my education and football career.
I slowly walked up to the door and unlocked it. "I thought we said no party?" I yelled as I opened the door. That's when the smell of dead meat hit me. I flipped on the living room light and saw the blood spots all over the walls and the ceilings. I paniced. I yelled for my family but got no response. I walked into the kitchen and saw my mother's lifeless body on the floor. She lay in a pool of blood and headless. I swollow down the bile that quickly traveled up my throat.
Upstairs I found my father belly down on the bathroom floor, his head floating in the toilet. I frantically searched for my sister. I screamed for her but got silence in return. Fearing the worst I checked the remaining rooms in the house. She was nowhere to be found. Suddenly I heard a scream come from downstairs. It was her.
I ran down the stairs to see a dark figure in the living room. I yelled at him and he turned around. His mouth impossibly had razor sharp teeth. He had blood all over his face. I saw my sisters lifeless form in his hands. He smirked and grabbed her by her hair and raggedly pulled her head from her body. This figure dropped her body and her head and slwly left. I just stood there, frozen.
I did not attend my family's funerals. I opted out of college and football. I opted out of amazing life I had planned out in front of me. I gave it all up to legally track down the man who brutally murdered my mother, father and sister.
I took the physical and intellectual exams and passed with flying colors. I was offically a Scranton city police officer. I excelled as a city cop. I like to think I did my fair share of cleaning up the city.
A few years later I became a Pennsylvania state trooper. That's when I was called to a family murder, just like how my family was murdered. I took the drive to Exeter, Pennsylvania to investigate. With this "random" murder, no one survived. All family members were found headless and bodies completely drained of blood. Needless to say, I took the case head-on.
This is when I found out hundreds of cases like this were popping up all over the country. The FBI was officially stepping in to aid and assist this investigation. After so many years of clue searching and countless lead, the case was unsolved. Much like my families murders.
I was offered a position with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, providing, I pass all tests, which I did. I spent two years as a local cop, two as a statey and now I'm a Federal, I moved to Philadelphia, which my field office is located.
I was 22-years old and I was naive. When I was told of vampires and werewolves and zombies, I laughed and shook my head. That was until I was face to face with one. We, as a task force, were called to a home invasion. The suspect described met the description of the man who murdered my family.
Inside the house was a blood-bath. We searched the house and found no one. I went out and searched the garage, coming face to face with my family's murderer. He smirked at me, "we meet again Jak" he said calmly showing my his teeth. This time I didn't freeze, I aimed and took the shot. A .45 magnum round tearing through his eye and punching a hole clear through his skull. I was told he was a vampire named Vincente.
Shortly after those events I was asked to lead a NATO enforced anti-vampire organization. I obliged and been with them ever since . I have become the one human in the know of the vampire world.
Aside from leading missions to detain vampires, I also develop weapons against them. For instance, my Dessert Eagle handgun is equipped with an infrared laser scope with built-in TRU-UV light. Its portable sunshine.
One thing I always remember when going into a mission: "Seasons don't fear the reaper. Nor do the wind, sun or the rain. We can be like them, come on baby, don't fear the reaper." -- Blue Oyster Cult - "(Don't fear) The Reaper"
My mom's favorite song. Appreciate the irony. Now if you'll excuse me I have a vampire to kill.
